Local author Camron Wright will read from and sign his new novel The Rent Collector. When a resident of Stung Meanchey, the huge municipal waste dump outside of Phnom Penh in Cambodia, realizes the woman she despises, her rent collector, can read, she sets in motion a chain of events that brings prosperity to her family and ultimately saves her son. An incredibly moving, beautifully written novel, Wright has created a cast of indelible characters based on real life citizens of the dump.

Wright first became aware of this story when his son, a film major, spent time at the Stung Meanchey dump filming a documentary that followed the Sang Ly on her journey. Wright, who was born and raised in Salt Lake City, is also the author of the “Readers Choice” award winner Letters for Emily.

"River of Victory," the documentary produced and directed by Wright's son, Trevor Wright, will also be available for sale at the event.

Light refreshments will be served during the book signing portion of the event, directly following the reading.
